$50.00
Time magazine, August 4, 1952. Good condition. One chip on the lower fore edge of the cover. Additional wear and creases on cover and creased lower corners of the first few pages. Some areas of discoloration on the back cover. Page 57 of this issue of Time includes the story of Paramahansa Yogananda’s passing (mahasamadhi) at the Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles at a dinner honoring the ambassador of India, Binary R. Sen, on March 7, 1952. He had just completed his talk with the final words of his poem “My India”: “Wher Ganges, woods, Himalayan caves, and men dream God—I am hallowed; my body touched that sod.” The article also tells of the incorruptible nature of Yogananda’s body for nearly three weeks. A photo of this article is in Paramahansa Yogananda: In Memoriam, published by Self-Realization Fellowship.
